An extensibe framework for simple, secure, robust, and reliable incentive-based studies.

The OINK Blog

ICTD X

Greetings all from IIM Ahmedabad! The OINK team has landed here in India for ICTD X, the Tenth International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies. Noah will be giving a presentation about OINK on Monday morning. We’ll also be at the demo session on Sunday afternoon. For those not here at ICTD, please check out the livestream or you can read the paper here. In addition to meeting the ICTD community, one of our big goals while we’re here is to solicit feedback on the ideas in OINK and see how well it can work for the studies that folks have run, are running, or are planning in the future.

Announcing OINK

We’re very excited to announce the launch of the Open INcentive Kit or OINK for short. OINK is a collaborative effort between Lab11 from the University of California, Berkeley and the STIMA Lab at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The goal of OINK is to create a general framework for deploying and running incentive-based studies. Currently, the vast majority of incentive-based studies either manually manage their incentives or need to create new, custom incentive software for every new deployment.
